1. Process Introduction
Chrome plating is an electroplating process that deposits chromium metal onto the surface of a steel pipe using an electrochemical method, forming a bright and dense coating. Common chrome-plated pipes are mostly round, oval, or rectangular, used in modular structures such as display racks, shelves, and furniture.
2. Main Characteristics
More attractive appearance, mirror-like gloss, high aesthetic appeal, strong decorative properties, moderate corrosion resistance, suitable for dry indoor environments, not resistant to acids, alkalis, and seawater. The coating is relatively hard and resistant to minor scratches.
II. Powder-coated Pipes (Powder-coated Steel Pipes)
1. Process Introduction
Powder coating is a dry coating process: Charged powder coating (resin + pigment + additives) is electrostatically sprayed onto the surface of the steel pipe, then baked at high temperature to melt, level, and solidify the powder, forming a dense protective coating.

Durable coating: Hard, scratch-resistant, impact-resistant, and peel-resistant, with an outdoor service life of up to 20 years.
Strong corrosion resistance: Excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and salt spray; epoxy coatings are particularly suitable for buried or humid environments.
Environmentally friendly: Solvent-free, VOC-free emissions; overspray powder is recyclable with a near 100% utilization rate.
Rich color options: Available in any RAL color chart color, including matte, gloss, textured, and metallic effects.
3. Technical Points
Surface treatment is crucial: Over 70% of the long-term durability of powder coatings depends on the quality of the substrate's surface treatment. Steel pipe surfaces that have undergone sandblasting/grinding to remove rust, oil, and salt can have a coating life more than three times longer than those with improper treatment.
