We would like to inform you of the current shipping situation at major ports in South China, as the pre-Chinese New Year peak season has entered its most critical phase. The following updates are based on real-time feedback from Nansha, Shekou, and Yantian ports over the past three days.

1. ‌Nansha Port: Trailer Trip Limitation in Effect

As of January 21, Guangzhou Nansha Container Terminal Co., Ltd. has officially implemented a new regulation:

Each trailer is allowed ‌only one entry per day‌ into the terminal.

Parking along the route between Phase II and III is strictly prohibited unless necessary.

This means that trailers, which previously completed 2–3 trips per day, are now limited to just one. As a result, trailer capacity has been reduced by 50%. To secure a booking, arrangements must be confirmed ‌at least two days in advance‌.

2. ‌Shekou Port: "Reservation" No Longer Available – Real SO Required

The situation at Shekou Port is equally tight:

The "trailer reservation" (holding a spot in advance) system has been suspended.

Only shipments with a confirmed ‌Shipping Order (SO)‌ can be scheduled.

Without a real SO, carriers are unwilling to commit, due to the risk of holding a slot without cargo.

3. ‌Yantian Port: Stable for Now, but Buffer Period Ending

Among the three, Yantian remains the most stable option. However:

Demand has surged, with trailer requests up ‌30% compared to last month‌.

Current bookings are already filled for the day after tomorrow (January 23).

If shipment confirmation is made today, there may be a ‌3-day delay‌ before container loading, or alternative arrangements will be needed.

Key Recommendations for Smooth Shipment:

✅ ‌Finalize shipping plans early‌ – Confirm your schedule at least 7 days in advance to secure trailer availability.

✅ ‌Provide SO promptly‌ – Real orders take priority; delays in documentation may result in missed slots.

✅ ‌Remain flexible with loading times‌ – Adjusting your window slightly can help avoid cascading delays for multiple shipments.

✅ ‌Contact us immediately for urgent orders‌ – We can leverage our network to find last-minute solutions.

We understand these conditions are challenging, and we are doing everything possible to ensure your cargo moves on time. Your early coordination and understanding are greatly appreciated during this peak period.
