Why Container Shipments Become Difficult Before The Spring Festival?

Reasons for Difficulties in Foreign Trade Container Shipments During the Spring Festival Period:

Yantian Port: The terminal is overcrowded with no available appointment slots for container return, which may lead to drop-off fees and secondary container return charges.

Shekou Port: Similarly fully booked, no appointment numbers are available, making container returns difficult and incurring additional fees.

Nansha Phase II & III Terminals: Severely congested, no appointment slots for container return, resulting in potential drop-off and secondary return charges.

Ningbo Port: Currently overloaded, implementing an appointment-based entry system. Once a vessel's containers exceed 20% of its capacity, the terminal stops accepting further containers-even before the closing time-potentially causing losses if shipments are delayed.

Xiamen Port: Although container acceptance has resumed from February 10th, prior to that, trailers had to use off-dock storage due to terminal closures, adding complexity and cost to operations.
