The lock was born almost at the same time as private ownership. As early as 3000 BC, in the Yangshao cultural site in China, wooden locks installed on wooden frame buildings remain. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, the technology of Chinese iron reed locks had reached a fairly high level. The three-reed lock has been used for more than 1,000 years.
